Salina Caper Powder is a unique and surprisingly versatile spice , obtained fromSalina capers from the Virgona Farm , recognized as a Slow Food Presidium , a guarantee of authenticity and certified quality . It enhances dishes with a strong Mediterranean character , elegantly replacing oregano and other aromatic herbs on meats , salads , grilled vegetables , baked potatoes and sauces , without overpowering their flavors. It is produced by drying and crushing the capers: for each 40 g jar, approximately 1 kg of capers are used , obtaining an intense and persistent aromatic concentration . Suggested use: sprinkle raw at the end of cooking or emulsify with extra virgin olive oil and lemon for an immediate condiment with the aroma of the Aeolian Islands .
