Mieli Siciliani 's Honeydew Honey is produced primarily in the Catania Plain , in suitable areas such as Paternò, Biancavilla, and Motta Sant'Anastasia , located at altitudes between 200 and 500 meters above sea level. Unlike floral honeys, Honeydew Honey is not derived from flower nectar, but from the sap of trees such as fir, chestnut, or oak. Its color ranges from dark brown to almost black, with a thicker, more viscous consistency than other types of honey. The flavor is intense and complex, with notes of wood, resin, and a light aftertaste of caramel and licorice.
