Honeydew Honey is a special and rich honey, obtained from bees that collect honeydew, a sugary substance produced by insects that feed on the sap of plants. Unlike floral honeys, Honeydew Honey does not come from flower nectar, but from the sap of trees such as fir, chestnut or oak trees. Its color varies from dark brown to almost black, with a denser and more viscous consistency than other types of honey. The flavor is intense and complex, with notes of wood, resin and a light aftertaste of caramel and licorice. It is a honey rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that make it ideal for supporting the immune system and for relieving ailments such as coughs or sore throats. Thanks to its intensity, Honeydew Honey is perfect for use in cooking, as a sweetener for herbal teas, teas or as an ingredient for more structured recipes, especially those that require a robust and enveloping flavor.
